The Last Days.

Well I am officially on maternity leave, and as much as everyone keeps questioning whether I have gone stir crazy yet – the truth is, I am loving the down time! The first few days were strange, being home, not working, but not on a holiday either! But then, I started to relax on a whole new level, and realized that this time I have to myself now – I may rarely get again for a long, long time! Plus it helps that I can message my bestie (also pregnant) any minute of the day to help keep me occupied (that, and a Californication series marathon).
I have also been hearing the word “nesting” a lot since I finished work. Apparently this nesting time involves the pregnant woman suddenly feeling the urge to clean, cook, pack, unpack, decorate, and anything that pretty much revolves around the household. Our way of preparing the house for maximum habitation for the months ahead. But, when considering that I have had “clean pantry” on my checklist for a few weeks now, I’m not quite sure that I qualify as a nester… (although I have cooked 20 meals for freezing like we are preparing for a bomb shelter!). Instead, I’ve been doing wedding research for my friend (to be married in October), buying and sending presents to my pregnant friends, making too many snack trips to the supermarket, and other non-nesting things. This morning after my shower, I decided to do my hair, put on a new dress and take some maternity shots – myself. Which turned out to be a work-out at the same time – pressing the camera timer, running to the bed or window, and quickly posing before the shutter released. It was exhausting in the end, but am glad I have some pictures to keep (and saved myself a few hundred dollars too!)….
