Newborn Photography.

Here’s a fun fact that I just learnt: newborn photography is done in the first two weeks of their birth. No rest for the wicked it seems, not even for the Mama who just gave birth to a watermelon. I think it’s a beautiful memento, to capture the newborn charisma before it disappears so quickly, but I can’t imagine the actual task itself being high on my to-do list in the first weeks of having a baby. Plus there’s the $300 or so to pay a professional photographer that I could probably use on something else. So this is where Mama Jess and her fancy camera step in. I’ve decided I’m going to do my own photo shoot, in the comfort of my own home, and when I can comfortably fit it in my daily schedule (in between the thousand nappy changes, laundry washing, feeding and cleaning I’m sure is going to take up my life soon enough!) …I actually did a few baby photo shoots last year for some friends, so have learnt the basics with what works and what doesn’t. Mind you the babies were at least a few months old each, so they were probably less tolerant than a newborn. I really want to capture the solace of a newborn, the sleeping beauty, the “ahhhh” moments. Here’s some inspiration I’ve compiled for the future shoot…
